Samantha had her first day of 1st grade on Wednesday August 19, 2009...
It has been a hectic couple months, I have been meaning to post Sams first day of school for a while now, but have not had the time to yet! It has been a big difference going from kindergarten to 1st, no crying or cajoling to get out of going to school, she's going, she's loving it and she is conquering it!!
She was a little nervous to go because she had a boy for a teacher, Mr. Kennedy, we went to meet the teacher night, met him and Sams first thought was "wow, he's tall mommy". She's right, he is super tall, at least 6'4", she has to crane her neck to look in his face when she talks to him, but that's ok, she LOVES him!! He is a great teacher and we look forward to this year with him, he is also a financial major, so hopefully she becomes a math whiz, (and teaches me something!).
I walked her into school, no tears from me, or her. She gave me a big hug and kiss, said "don't forget to pick me up" and went in! No backward glances, I'm so proud of her!
So far everything is great, she loves her teacher, she is already learning loads, and she doesn't put up a fight to go to school every morning (just a fight to go to bed at night!) I'm so proud of her, her strength and courage to conquer school and the challenges of school...Sam is a sweet kindhearted little one, I have no worries about her! (ok, just a few)... Good luck Sam, we love you!!

Our kids all need to stop growing! We have got to set up a play date this week. Charly is pretty disappointed that her and Meagan aren't in the same class.
