Our December snow day

18 inches or more of snow fall, winds up to 50 mph,
drifts 8 feet high or more in some places, blizzard like conditions are great
fixins for a family snow day!
We were officially snowed in today! No school, no work.
It was so much fun to spend time
together and not have to go anywhere.
this is what we did, and then some
played in the snow
(got buried by the snow is more like it!)

pretended to shovel, notice the drift is up to my arm

made snow angels
(and wasn't able to get back up)

put the kiddos to work
Meagan

Sammy

fell into the snow bank

stand up snow angels

all bundled up, believe me, we needed as much of our selves covered as we could!
wind was still pretty brutal when we went out!
it was all worth it, we had so much fun in the snow! So did the dogs,
Belle was hopping around like a rabbit, it was so funny,
and brownie was trying not to get buried!
playing Uno, Sam kicked our butts

Uno, Sorry, movies, more card games, hyper kids...

Meag was watching movies for a while in her room

polishing nails, gorgeous girls!
(nice face sam)

and more playing outside!

Matt cleaning off his truck, his whole bed is full of snow.
he did our driveway, in front of our front and back doors
stairs, walkways, neighbors front doors, decks and all that so they
could leave if they needed to for an emergency, our other neighbor did
the main walkways and driveways with his awesome snow blower, thanks Paul!

All in all it was a fun day, what an adventure being snowed in, I have never seen weather like
this, especially growing up in UT, but Matt being an Iowan, he said he hasn't see
weather like this since like 1993!!
And I just found out that school is closed again tomorrow, so apparently we will be doing the same tomorrow! Can't wait! I just loved being with my family today, to actually get to spend the whole day with Matt and the girls, that hasn't happened in quite a while.
Happy December 9, 2009 Snow Day everyone!

Yes you have an awesome hubby! That was so nice of him to shovel off my deck for me! I didn't recognize him at first since he was all bundled up, but the firefighter stocking hat help us figure out it was him! I am so thankful for such awesome neighbors!

Oh my gosh!!! I have forgotten what it's like to have snow in winter!!! I can't believe how much you guys got. Believe it or not, we have all the windows open here today, it's in the 70's. The bad thing is it doesn't really feel like Christmas in this weather.
