Snow Day

On Thursday night into Friday morning, we got a few inches of ice with a few more inches of snow on top of that. Wahoo. However, our schools were cancelled so we got to spend the day inside with each other! The girls and I had a good Snow Day! They played outside with their friends Aiden and Ajla (pronounced Ila) in the snow/ice piles for quite a while, taking advantage of the fact that it was not blowing yet. They came in all rosy cheeked and and laughing wanting hot chocolate and dinner! I wanted to take advantage of the snow day and bake for the neighbors! I had tons of bananas I got so I could make banana bread for them. So while watching the kids outside and baking inside, I managed to over cook all the batches... which for me never happens! I love baking. Anyways, my neighbors will have to go without my yummy banana bread this year, my mind is crazy, and make do with a lovely card!!
(I have to say, it has been so cold here! Today is Sunday, and the low was like 5 degrees below 0, but with the wind chill, it felt like 30 below! So freakin cold! I didn't wear gloves to church and went to open the metal door, the handle was so cold it burned my hand!! SO COLD!!!!!!!!!!!! Just for those of you who are interested to know, who are enjoying better weather... I dislike this weather situation very much! Took the girls to dinner last night ((kids eat free, Z'Mariks, Saturdays)) and the whole inside of the restaurant door had frost on it, thick frost, we had to scratch a few times to even make a mark! BBBBRRRRRRRR)

Also on our snow day we made our gingerbread house! Sam and Meag loved doing this! We got one of those pre packaged ones and busted it out, separated the candy so they could each have their own bowl of each individual candy brand, and proceeded to put the house together. I put the house together and the girls decorated it! They each had 3 sides to themselves, a front, a side and a roof. It was so funny because while they were decorating I would just hear crunching and licking noises! It was kind of a pattern, eat, decorate, eat, decorate... so funny, and they loved the sound the bottlecaps made when dropped into a can of soda! Frosting was everywhere and they had fun! Belle the Beagle especially loved it, the girls would drop candy and you would hear the dog scrambling for it under the table! She really loved the nerds! We had a great snow day!
